The Water Resources Department, Madhya Pradesh, has undertaken implementation of Satdharu medium irrigation in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh.
The project will entail an investment of Rs 315.65 crore. The project envisages construction of 24.80 mtr high and 755 mtr long earthen dam including 64.5 mtr long side channel spillway on river Satdharu near village Badyau of Damoh district. It is designed to store 63.03 MCM water to provide irrigation for 18,668.81 acre through pressurised pipe irrigation network with an irrigation intensity of 100 percent.
As per information available with Projects Today, work has been recently commenced. The project will spread over 11,290.63 ha of land, of which forestland is 969.19 ha, culturable land is 117.92 ha, unculturable land is 176.85 ha and revenue land is 26.67 ha.
In October 2017, the project was accorded the terms of reference (ToR). In October 2019, HES Infra in joint venture (JV) with Harsha Construction bagged an order worth Rs 97 crore for construction of pressurized pipe micro irrigation network for the project.
