The Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA) is planning to implement the Jhirniya Micro Lift Irrigation Scheme in Madhya Pradesh on a turnkey basis.
The scope of the project comprises all ancillary works, piped irrigation system to supply water through a pressurised pipeline system for micro-irrigation (drip/sprinkler) to deliver at farmer’s fields with a duty of 0.35 ltr per sec per hectare OMS at 20 hectares chak, with ten times duty from 20 hectares to 2.5 hectares chak, with at least 23 mtr residual head at the highest point of each 2.5 hectares, with a total power requirement of 46.34 MW in the culturable command area of 39520 hectares, out of gross command area 53969 hectares.
In January 2023, Jagdish Gupta was awarded a contract from NVDA for Rs 1086.81 crore.
Currently, NVDA is awaiting the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the project.
According to the latest Projects Today updates, work on project is expected to commence in Q2/FY24 and completion is slated for August 2028.
