Civil work on five more radial roads totalling nearly 60 km along different
corners of Hyderabad is likely to commence soon.
Hyderabad Growth Corridor (HGCL), a JV company of the Hyderabad Metropolitan
Development Authority and Infrastructure Corporation of Corporation, created to
execute the work of 158 km long Outer Ring Road (ORR), is preparing the ground
for these five radial roads at Jeedimetla, ECIL X roads, Nagole junction,
Shaikpet and Mettuguda.
A total of 33 radial roads have been proposed at a cost of Rs 2,500 crore and
the Japan International Cooperative Agency which is providing funds to parts of
the ORR has also agreed to provide assistance to the tune of Rs 380 crore for
these roads. Some of these stretches including two at Gachibowli and
Rajendranagar have already been attended to and work is on to provide
connectivity from Inner Ring Road to ORR at Nagarjunasagar, Srisailam and
Vikarabad.
HGCL has invited tenders for consulting services for supervision of
strengthening and widening of radial roads running to 60 kms and split into five
packages. These stretches are 8.50 km from Jeedimetla to Saragudem, 10.20 km
from EXIL X roads to Cheriyal X roads, 15 km from Nagole junction to Gourelly X
roads, 6 km from Shaikpet to Kokapet and 18 km from Mettuguda to Jawaharnagar.
