The Water Resources Department, Rajasthan, has undertaken Dholpur lift irrigation-cum-drinking water scheme with intake point in Chambal River of Rajasthan on EPC basis.
This is the country's first irrigation project in which a network of 1,600 km pipeline will be set up. The project will entail an investment of Rs 774 crore. The project will provide drinking water to 234 villages of Baadi, Dhaulpur and Rajakheda tehsils of Dholpur district.
In November 2017, GVPR Engineers in joint venture with Krishna Corporations bagged a contract worth Rs 772.52 crore for execution of the project with operation and maintenance (O&M) period for eight years on EPC basis.
In December 2017, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje laid the foundation stone for the project. As per the latest information available with Projects Today, work on the project is progressing as per schedule. The project is expected to be completed by December 2021.
