Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on 9 August 2012 will inaugurate the six laned access-controlled Yamuna Expressway.
The 165 km road has been built at a cost of Rs 14,000 crore. The opening of the high-speed road which will connect Greater Noida with Agra and bring down the travel time between the two locations from four hours to less than 100 minutes. The state government has already notified the speed limit of 100 kmph for cars and 60 kmph for heavy vehicles. However, it has still to notify the toll rates proposed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.
