Jaypee Infratech is likely to open the 165-km Yamuna Expressway in Uttar
Pradesh by 2011. The company is a SPV for implementation of the six-lane access
controlled Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, connecting Noida and Agra.
Earlier, the company had set the deadline of 2013 for the opening of the
expressway. The project is estimated to cost Rs 9,739 crore. So far, it has
invested Rs 6,250 crore towards the project.
Of the 6,175 acre, the company has secured possession of 3,745 acre and
expects to get the rest soon. So far, over 80 per cent of the land fill work has
been completed besides other related activities.
The company is planning to take up development on 6,175 acre at five
locations along the expressway for commercial, industrial, institutional,
residential and amusement purposes.
