Bengaluru-based iGo has entered into a partnership with Pune-based Sun Electro Devices to accelerate production of its innovative 2.5-wheeler smart EVs.
Moving away from the traditional giga-factory vertical integration model, iGo will adopt an ecosystem-driven manufacturing approach, leveraging India’s existing production capabilities for faster market entry without compromising quality.
Sun Electro Devices brings decades of automotive production expertise, a skilled workforce, and a robust supplier network. The partnership aims to scale output to 1,000 vehicles per month within seven months, with launches slated for Pune, Panjim, and Mumbai.
iGo’s twin-wheel EV platform features anti-topple stabilisation, on-demand self-balancing, and a triple-disc CBS braking system, positioning it between traditional scooters and e-rickshaws for urban and semi-urban mobility.
