The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a major industrial development initiative by greenlighting proposals from JSW Group to establish a steel plant in Sunnapurallapalle village in Kadapa district.

The project will be executed in two phases, with a total investment of Rs 16,350 crore and the potential to generate employment for 2,500 people. The first phase of the project will involve an investment of Rs. 4,500 crore, while the second phase will see an infusion of Rs 11,850 crore. To support the development, the government has allotted 1,100 acres of land to JSW at a concessional rate.

According to official directives, construction of the first phase must begin by January 2026 and be completed by April 2029. The second phase is scheduled to commence in January 2031, with production operations expected to follow. This initiative marks a significant step toward industrial expansion in the state, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to attracting large-scale investments and boosting employment.
