The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) on 22 July, 2025 began inspecting the long-anticipated Yellow Line of Namma Metro, a 19.15 km stretch connecting RV Road to Bommasandra.

The inspection commenced after Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) received the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) report, marking a critical step toward the line’s commissioning. On day one, the CMRS completed a fourth of the inspection, focusing on Reach 5. BMRCL Chief Public Relations Officer Yashwant Chavan stated, “The inspection will be completed in the next 3–4 days,” adding that passenger operations can begin once the CMRS grants final clearance.

Regarding operational stations, he said, “That will be decided after the CMRS gives its authorisation report.” This final safety inspection brings the long-delayed Yellow Line closer to becoming operational. Originally slated for completion in 2021, the project has experienced repeated delays. Meanwhile, BMRCL is also holding environmental stakeholder meetings for its proposed Phase-3 Metro and Double Decker Project.
