In a significant boost to infrastructure in south Haryana, the Central government has approved the development of a new 45-km four-lane highway connecting Nuh to Ferozepur Jhirka and Alwar on the Rajasthan border.
The Rs 325-crore project, part of National Highway 248-A, aims to reduce travel time and improve road safety in the region. The new stretch will feature nine flyovers, six underpasses, and bypasses at Malab and Bhadas in Nuh. With a two-year completion target, the highway is expected to significantly reduce accidents on the highway, where over 2,500 fatalities have been reported in the last 12 years.
The project had initially received Rs 186 crore in 2019 but was stalled due to overlapping plans with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Now revived with an increased budget, the project is moving forward with strong government backing. Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh highlighted the project’s importance for enhancing connectivity, safety, and socio-economic opportunities in the region.
