Coromandel International, a leading Indian agri-solutions provider, has signed an agreement with Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions (India) to increase its seawater desalination capacity from six MLD to nine MLD at its Vizag facility.

Originally commissioned in 2023, the desalination plant helps reduce dependence on surface water and boosts operational resilience. The expansion follows a build-own-operate (BOO) model where Coromandel will provide infrastructure, and Veolia would deliver global expertise in water treatment technology and operations. Veolia will operate the enhanced facility to ensure efficiency and sustainability.

Once upgraded, the plant will supply 60-70 percent of Coromandel’s water needs at Vizag, significantly lowering reliance on external water sources. This move underscores Coromandel’s commitment to sustainable water management and innovative resource-efficient solutions.
