The Delhi government has greenlit a Rs 500 crore elevated road project aimed at decongesting traffic and enhancing connectivity in the trans-Yamuna region, specifically the Pushta Sonia Vihar area.

Spanning 5.5 km, the elevated road will stretch from Nanaksar Gurudwara to Shani Mandir at the Uttar Pradesh border, directly addressing long-standing commuter issues in the region.

Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Verma confirmed that the project had been approved by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta after comprehensive discussions. Highlighting the environmental sensitivity of the area, and further stated, "The local MLA and Minister Kapil Mishra has been pushing for this project. Due to the presence of many trees in the area, we have decided to construct a flyover instead of a conventional road."

The initiative is expected to significantly benefit thousands of daily commuters who have long faced severe traffic bottlenecks in the area.
