Maharashtra has unveiled its first-ever glass skywalk built over the Napne Waterfall in Sindhudurg district, offering an attraction for adventure lovers, nature enthusiasts, and tourists.

Constructed at a cost of approx. Rs 99.63 lakh, the skywalk is now open to the public and already gaining popularity for its dramatic views and unique selfie point. The inauguration was announced by Regional Minister Nitesh Rane under the Sindhuratna tourism scheme, with the project dedicated as a birthday tribute to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Located in the Konkan region, Napne is a perennial waterfall near Nadhavade village, about three km from Vaibhavwadi railway station.

Surrounded by lush forests, the area is rich in biodiversity, including sightings of hornbills and other exotic birds—making it a hotspot for birdwatchers as well. The Napne Glass Bridge is made of high-strength transparent glass, giving visitors a direct view of the gushing waterfall beneath. The structure features arch-style railings, wooden-style stairs, and a butterfly sculpture at the entrance, now a popular selfie point. This new attraction is expected to be a game-changer for tourism in Maharashtra, drawing both domestic and international visitors.
