Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced the launch of four additional Amrit Bharat Express trains for Bihar, bringing the total number of such semi-high-speed trains in the country to seven. With this, five of the seven Amrit Bharat Express trains will operate from Bihar, marking a significant boost in rail connectivity for the state.

The announcement was made during the Minister's visit to Bihar, where he also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated key infrastructure projects at Karpoorigram Station under the Samastipur division.

Among the new trains is the first daily Amrit Bharat Express on the Patna–Delhi route. Previously, Amrit Bharat Express trains operated only on a weekly basis. Additional weekly services include the Darbhanga–Gomti Nagar, Malda Town (via Kiul)–Lucknow, and Saharsa–Amritsar routes.

These new routes are expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce travel times, and provide more comfortable travel options. The Amrit Bharat Express is part of Indian Railways’ modernisation push to offer affordable, semi-high-speed travel options with enhanced onboard amenities.
