GAIL (India) has revised the completion timeline for its Mumbai–Nagpur–Jharsuguda Pipeline (MNJPL) project to 31 December, 2025, from the earlier deadline of 30 September, 2025.

The 1,702 km pipeline consists of three sections: Mumbai–Nagpur (693 km), Nagpur–Jharsuguda (692 km), and Nagpur–Jabalpur (317 km). Significant progress has been made, with mechanical construction mostly complete. The Mumbai–Nagpur section awaits Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) approval, while large stretches in Odisha and Chhattisgarh are ready for gas-in, pending the same clearance. Remaining work includes about nine km in Maharashtra on the Nagpur–Jharsuguda stretch, and 1.8 km on the Nagpur–Jabalpur line, expected to finish by October 2025.

Separately, GAIL’s board has approved the expansion of the Jamnagar–Loni LPG pipeline capacity from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA, involving an investment of Rs 5,363.88 crore. This expansion is slated for completion within 36 months following regulatory approval in July 2025, funded through a mix of debt and equity.
