Gujarat government has launched the Gujarat Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025 (GECMS-2025), aiming to attract over Rs 35,000 crore in new investments and generate high-skilled employment in the electronics manufacturing sector.

The policy is aligned with the Centre’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) and ensures 100 percent Central assistance for MeitY-approved projects located in the state, providing dual incentives—one from the Central and one from the state government. Once a project is approved by MeitY under ECMS, it will automatically qualify for matching state-level financial assistance, with Gujarat committing to disburse its share within 30 days of the Centre’s release.

The policy targets key segments like multi-layer and HDI printed circuit boards, lithium-ion cells, SMD passive components, camera and display modules, and associated machinery. A major focus is bridging the talent gap and fostering innovation. Recognised institutions in Gujarat can receive up to Rs 12.5 crore in state assistance to set up centres of excellence, finishing schools, or applied R&D labs. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel described the initiative as pivotal in cementing Gujarat’s status as a hub for electronics manufacturing and innovation.
