Hilti Manufacturing has become the first Indian facility to receive the prestigious DGNB Gold Certification from the German Sustainable Building Council.

This accolade underscores the company’s strong focus on sustainable infrastructure, safety, productivity, and decarbonisation, as part of its broader commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) certification sets a global benchmark for sustainable construction. It evaluates buildings across their entire lifecycle—from planning through operation—assessing environmental impact, economic viability, user comfort, and design quality.

Commenting on the achievement, Giridhar Jambunathan, Director & CEO, Hilti Manufacturing India, said, “Industrial buildings present unique challenges when it comes to sustainability. Our goal with the Vadodara plant was to go beyond compliance and set a new benchmark. DGNB’s framework helped guide that ambition.” Johannes Kreißig, Managing Director, DGNB, added, “Hilti is playing a pioneering role with its Indian project being the first in the country to receive DGNB certification.
