Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) has set out its plan to export aircraft accessories and platform components, related to various platforms, including the Dornier Do-228.
HAL is actively working with the government to enhance domestic capabilities in aircraft systems while expanding its export footprint. The strategy includes documentation, post-sale engineering support, and modification services. HAL is also supporting MSMEs through formal handholding initiatives to strengthen domestic supply chains.
Since the post-COVID-19 period, HAL has accelerated its indigenisation efforts. The HAL Lucknow division has successfully developed and indigenised the main fuel pump used in fighter aircraft, described as a "significant achievement in the HAL's self-reliance drive." The component is critical to powering some of the Indian Air Force's frontline platforms.
HAL continues to play a key role in bolstering India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
