Kirloskar Ferrous Industries has been declared the ‘preferred bidder’ for the Jambunatha iron ore mine in Karnataka. The announcement came via a letter dated July 22, 2025, from the Department of Mines and Geology, Government of Karnataka.
The declaration follows an electronic auction conducted on 27 January, 2025, where Kirloskar Ferrous secured the top position based on the highest final price offer submitted. The grant of the mining lease remains subject to several conditions, including requisite payments, compliance with tender requirements, obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals, and execution of associated agreements.
