The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced the development of a Rs 4,613 crore, 88-km, six-lane greenfield expressway connecting Agra and Gwalior.

The access-controlled expressway will begin at Deori village in Agra and end at Susera village in Gwalior, traversing Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.
This high-speed corridor is expected to significantly enhance road infrastructure between these major tourism hubs, while decongesting surrounding cities and enabling smoother inter-state travel.

To be executed under the build-operate-transfer (Toll) model, the contract includes a 20-year concession period, with 30 months allocated for construction. As part of the project support, NHAI will provide Rs 820 crore in construction aid to the Concessionaire, disbursed in phases according to project progress.

The expressway is anticipated to not only improve inter-state traffic movement but also contribute to regional development by enhancing logistics efficiency and supporting local economies.
