Denmark-based Rockwool Group’s new Rs 550 crore manufacturing plant in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, is on track to become operational by Q2/2026.

The facility, larger than Rockwool’s existing plant in Gujarat, will serve as a major production hub for stone wool insulation products in India. The plant’s construction is halfway complete and will create employemnt of over 150 directly along with many indirect opportunities, benefiting local communities. It will produce insulation solutions for building envelopes, industrial applications, and sandwich panel cores. 

The Cheyyar plant aims to strengthen Rockwool’s presence in India and contribute to regional economic and social development. Rockwool officials highlighted the project as a key part of their commitment to India’s sustainable growth and energy-efficient building materials market.
