Steelbird Hi-Tech India has announced a capital expenditure of Rs 50 crore this year across its nine manufacturing plants to enhance production capacity, support R&D, and modernise operations.

The investment is part of the company’s larger strategy to launch 75 new helmet models over the next five years and meet increasing demand for safer, certified helmets. The company, which holds a 35 percent share in India’s branded helmet market, currently operates six plants in Baddi and three in Noida, supported by offices in Delhi, Italy, and a digital hub in Panchkula. “Every helmet takes nearly two years to develop, and we are scaling up to meet the growing demand with safer and smarter designs,” said Managing Director Rajeev Kapur.

OEM clients include Hero, Honda, Yamaha, and Royal Enfield. A key innovation includes the newly launched SXE helmet featuring TPE impact absorption technology. Steelbird aims to sell over one crore helmets this year, up from 87 lakh last year.
