Hartek Power (HPPL), an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company in the power and renewable infrastructure sector, has secured a substation contract worth Rs 138 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL).

The contract pertains to the development of the 400kV AIS substation package SS-66T, associated with the transmission scheme for integration of Davanagere/Chitradurga and Ballari Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) in Karnataka, through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route.

The scope of work involves design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing at the manufacturer’s works, supply (including transportation and insurance), unloading, storage, erection, testing, and commissioning, ensuring turnkey delivery.

This substation will play a crucial role in integrating renewable energy from the Davanagere, Chitradurga, and Ballari REZ into the national grid, aligning with India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based capacity by 2030.
