Servotech Renewable Power System has received an order from Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) to install an ultra-fast EV charging hub at Kempegowda International Airport.
The project includes 10 high-capacity DC chargers of 240 kW each, totaling a combined installed capacity of 2.4 MW. This will be the first and largest EV charging station dedicated to airside EV operations at any Indian airport. The strategically located charging hub will power electric buses that shuttle passengers between terminals and aircraft, ensuring seamless and round-the-clock airside operations.
With ultra-fast turnaround times, the project aims to enhance operational efficiency while reducing transport-related carbon emissions at the airport. Servotech will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, including supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and five years of maintenance. The installation is a key step toward the airport's commitment to sustainability and is expected to significantly curb emissions from airside transportation activities.
