Paradeep Phosphates (PPL) will invest over Rs 1,500 crore in capacity expansion over the next three years, aiming to double its market share in India’s 20-million-tonne phosphatic fertiliser sector.
The Bhubaneswar-based company, which posted nearly Rs 14,000 crore turnover in FY25, plans to increase production from 2.6 million tonne to 3.7 million tonne by FY26, targeting sales of three million tonne. The expansion hinges on the amalgamation of Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers (MCFL), expected in this financial year, adding 7,00,000 tonne capacity and enabling a new 6,00,000-tonne plant at Mangalore.
PPL will also boost phosphoric acid capacity by 40 percent and sulfuric acid from 1.3 to two million tonne. Further, strategic partnerships with Morocco’s OCP for 1.6 million tonne of rock phosphate supply and long-term ammonia sourcing from the Gulf ensure raw material security.
