Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has acquired a majority stake in a joint venture with Naturedge Beverages, marking its entry into the functional and healthy beverage segment.

The collaboration focuses on Naturedge’s flagship brand “Shunya,” a zero-sugar, zero-calorie herbal drink infused with Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Khus, Kokum, and Green Tea, which has seen strong consumer acceptance across India. Founded in 2018 by Siddhesh Sharma of the Baidyanath Group, Naturedge also markets products under the brands Shunya and Armour, leveraging the family’s century-old expertise in Ayurveda.

Commenting on the deal, Ketan Mody, Executive Director of RCPL, said the acquisition enhances RCPL’s beverage portfolio with Ayurveda-inspired health drinks. He added that the move, quote, "aligns with RCPL’s vision of providing quality products at affordable prices while promoting India’s wellness legacy."

Since its inception in 2022, RCPL has been actively expanding its beverage lineup through acquisitions like Campa and new launches such as Campa Energy and Raskik. The company intends to scale Shunya nationwide and diversify into energy drinks, energy shots, stills, and herb-infused waters.
