MSRDC awards 22 road projects in a single day
On 15 July, 2017, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) made a one-of-its-kind announcement. A total of 22 road projects were awarded by MSRDC to various contractors. Of these, 10 contracts were more than Rs 300 crore and the remaining were less than Rs 300 crore. Speaking to ProjectsToday, the official from MSRDC informed that contracts worth Rs 5,859.15 crore were awarded. The total length of these road projects are 1,093.24 km.
Megha Engineering bagged a total of five contracts worth Rs 1,779.2 crore for a total stretch of 305.86 km. Of these, the major contract bagged by the company was for road upgradation of Satara-Mhaswad road. The scope of work includes two laning of Satara- Koregaon- Mhaswad- Malshiras- Akluj- Tembhumi- Kurduvadi- Bakshi- Yedshi- Murud- Latur (section from Satara to Mhaswad SH-141 and Mhaswad to Tembhumi SH-145) section from Satara to Mhaswad covering a length of 85.69 km.
In terms of value, the biggest contract awarded was Rs 522.85 crore for a road upgradation (Ahmadnagar-Baramati) project to come up at Ahmadnagar in Maharashtra. The project envisages two laning of Ahmadnagar-Baramati-Phaltan section from Ahmadnagar to Baramati covering a length of 93.80 km. The project has been awarded to Dinesh Chandra R. Agrawal Infracon and will be implemented on EPC basis.
Another major contract worth Rs 395.70 crore was awarded to joint venture Patel Engg -Pawar Patkar Constructions & Harsh Construction for upgradation of Pimpla-Manjarsumbha road. The work involves two laning of Ahmedpur-Kopra-Kingaon-Ambejogai-Kej-Manjarsumbha-Patoda-Jamkhed SH-56 (in-principally declared new NH) section from Pimpla to Manjarsumbha.
Roadways Solutions India bagged two road projects entailing an investment worth Rs 461.1 crore covering a length of 101.45 km. This includes a project for two laning of Satara-Murvad-Pilov-Pandharpur stretching 53.08 km.
J M Mhatre also bagged two road projects worth Rs 630.95 crore. The biggest project bagged by the company was for two laning of Pune-Paud-Mulshi-Mangaon-Mhalsa-Dighi Port-Indapur (NH-66)-Tala-Mandad-Agardanda-Dighi Port (SH-96 and 92) section from Mangaon to Dighi Port. The value of this project is Rs 372.95 crore.
The above projects are scheduled to be completed in 24 months. Operate, maintenance and transfer for these projects is for a period of five years.
