The Bihar Cabinet sanctioned its approval on 18 November 2014, to the Rs 337 crore cement plant planned by Shree Cement. It will be set up in the Aurangabad district of the state.
The proposed unit by Shree Cement will come up with a production capacity of 20 lakh tonne per annum and will also have a 12 MW biomass-based captive power plant.
Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), a state government agency, has provided 67.63 acre of land on lease for this plant. On completion of this project, it will provide employment to 300 skilled and unskilled people.
The state cabinet has also approved Rs 285.58 crore Door Step Delivery scheme under the PDS in the current financial year 2014-15. It also approved a Rs 257 crore project under JNNURM to buy 591 new buses, and for construction of the bus terminus and depots in 13 cities across the state. The project will be implemented by UDHD.
The Cabinet approved Rs 454.6 crore under Rajeev Awaas Yojana to construct houses for slum dwellers.
