Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Development Corporation, through DMIC Trust, will provide financial assistance for the development of two industrial cities of Dholera -- Gujarat and Shendra-Bidkin, Maharashtra, this year.
The trust will provide Rs 3,000 crore for the development of trunk infrastructure in the two cities. The construction work on the Dholera Special Investment Region Gujarat and Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Park, Maharashtra, is expected to commence in the next year.
The project at Dholera will start from a 22 sq km activation zone to expand the industrial region development as part of DMIC in Gujarat. The corporation has already acquired 32 sq km of land for the Shendra-Bidkin development. An additional eight sq km of land was in the process of being acquired, giving a 40 sq km start for the mega park near Aurangabad.
Further, for the development of cities, SPVs of a 50:50 partnership between the government of India and the state governments, were being formed.
Apart from these two cities, three more cities will be launched within one year. These are the Greater Noida Township; Global City in Gurgaon; and the integrated township of Vikram Odyogpuri. The respective state governments have already allotted land for these projects.
