On 29 November 2013, Dr M Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, inaugurated the styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) unit in Panipat, Haryana.
The project with 1.2 lakh capacity was developed by Indian Synthetic Rubber (ISRL) with an investment of Rs 900 crore. The project was implemented in a JV with Indian Oil Corporation, and TSRC Corporation, Taiwan which hold 30 per cent shares, and Marubeni Corporation, Japan which holds 20 per cent shares. Technology for the manufacturing unit is being provided by TSRC Corporation.
ISRL is part of the integrating petrochemical value chain and is enhancing the value of Indian Oil’s Naphtha Cracker plant at Panipat.
