Bharat Heavy Electricals has bagged a Rs.1,774
crore order from Jindal Power Ltd for its 1,000 MW thermal power plant coming up
at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh.
The contract envisages design, engineering,
manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning or steam turbines,
generators and boilers along with associated auxiliaries including controls and
instrumentation.
The project will come up in two phases, each
consisting of two units of 250 MW. The first phase would be commissioned in a
schedule of 32 to 35 months.
For BHEL, this would be the first major order
from an independent power producer.
