The Dharampal Satyapal Group is planning to expand its non-tobacco business with an investment of Rs.250 crore.
The company is setting up a manufacturing unit in
the north-eastern State of Tripura at an investment of Rs.75 crore in the first
phase and eventually it would be scaled up to Rs.250 crore. The facility would
manufacture rubber thread. The project with technological collaboration from
Italy is expected to go on stream soon.
The DS Group has also planned to invest Rs.75
crore in setting up a packaging unit in Guwahati with a capacity of 3,000-4,000
tpa installed capacity, to fulfill the in-house need for packaging material.
