It
was learnt that fourteen companies have expressed interest in participating in
the development of the proposed deepwater international container terminal at
Vizhinjam.
The
companies attended the pre-bid meeting organised by the Ports Department earlier
in April 2005 and also received the tender documents, according to an official
statement. The
Government has issued a notification extending the last date for submitting of
tenders to 8 June 2005, following requests from prospective bidders.
