Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, is scheduled
to inaugurate the Jaipur-Kishangarh expressway in Rajasthan on 23 May 2005.
The six-lane expressway has been developed on BOT
basis by GVK International in consortium with a foreign partner. The 90-km
expressway on NH-8 (km 273.500 near Jaipur to km 363.885 near Kishangarh) in Rajasthan is part of the Golden Quadrilateral project of
National Highways Authority of India Ltd.
The expressway would be 90.385 km in length with
three major and 16 minor bridges, 68 culverts, five flyovers and 17.225 km of
service roads. The expressway is six-laned throughout with toll plazas at either
ends.
The project costing Rs.614 crore was completed in
24 months, six months ahead of schedule. The Jaipur-Kishangarh project is
India's first six-lane BOT toll road project.
