Larsen & Toubro has bagged a Rs.418 crore
contract from National Highways Authority of India for constructing a 3.4 km
six-lane dedicated flyover on NH-1 at central Panipat in Haryana.
The flyover, when completed, will be the longest
one on the national highway network. A separate two-land peripheral road with
paved shoulders would be provided on either side of the access-controlled
flyover for the local Panipat traffic that would not use the elevated structure.
The contract valued at Rs.418 crore also includes
widening of the existing four-lane 10-km stretch passing through Panipat city
(km 86 to km 96) to six lanes and construction of a city bus stand and the
Skylark Tourist Complex.
The project will be executed on BOT basis through
a special purpose vehicle being formed for the purpose. The concession period of
the BOT project is 20 years including construction time of three years.
L&T Ramboll Consulting Engineers Ltd is the
project consultant.
