GMR Infrastructure has bagged three road projects
worth Rs.1,500 crore from National Highways Authority of India, to be developed
on BOT basis.
Two of these projects are in Andhra Pradesh and
the third one stretches over 205 km in Punjab-Haryana.
The first project is between Adloor Yellareddy
and Kalkallu on the NH-7, passing through Nizamabad and Medak districts of AP.
This is basically for strengthening and widening the existing two-lane road into
a four-lane one, covering a distance of 100 km.
The second project is between Shivrampalli and
Jadcherla on the same highway covering a distance of 70 km. This corridor will
be connecting Hyderabad with the proposed international airport at Shamshabad.
GMR is developing this airport on the greenfield basis.
In the north, the group has got the project for
expanding the Ambala-Chandigarh corridor, which is spread over a stretch of 35
km.
This project will be on NH-21 and NH-22, which
caters to one of the densest traffic movement in the country from the northern
states to New Delhi. The four-laning of the stretch will help in decongesting
and providing fast connectivity in the entire region.
These projects
will be completed within two and half year and will be operating and maintaining
them till 2025, before handing them over to the government (NHAI).
