The Ministry of External Affairs has approved the
BHEL's proposal to set up a 1,000-MW turnkey gas-based power project in Sudan. The project will entail an investment of $500
million (Rs.2,150 crore.)
BHEL has also been given the right to choose
its partners for the distribution of electricity that will be generated.
Indian government will provide a line of credit
of $350 million for the project, while the Sudan government will provide $150 million.
