Maihar Cement Ltd, part of the BK Birla-promoted Century Textiles
& Inds Ltd, is planning to enhance the capacity of its Satna cement units in Madhya Pradesh.
The company also plans to set up a 15 MW power plant
to meet the power demand for capacity expansion from the existing 1 million
tpa to1.8 million tpa at one its Satna unit. It will entail an investment of Rs.120
crore. The company has two units of cement in Satna, each with 1 million tpa
capacity.
The company received clearance from the state
government through Apex Committee on Investment Promotion for a some tax
concession like entry tax etc. and necessary permission to set up the power
plant. The concessions have been given in accordance with Madhya Pradesh's
Industrial Promotion Policy.
In November 2004, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, bagged orders for the supplying of power plant equipment
amidst international competition. The order envisages design,
engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of a 15.7 MW steam
turbine generator set with associated auxiliaries for the captive power plant at
their cement plant in Madhya Pradesh. The power plant is expected to commission
during the first half of 2006-07.
