National Highways Authority of India
has awarded three highway projects, totally valued at Rs.879 crore, to be
developed on BOT basis. The three stretches, all part of Phase III-A of the
National Highway Development Programme, lie in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and
Maharashtra.
The concession agreements for these
projects was signed with three special purpose vehicles promoted by a consortium
of Oriental Structures Engineering and Delhi Brass Metal.

Note: NHDP-Phase IIIA is a
Rs.22,000 crore project aiming to four-lane 4,000 km of national highways, which
are outside the purview of the first two phases of NHDP, viz. Golden
Quadrilateral & the East-West, North-South corridor projects. NHDP-IIIA is
in turn part of NHDP-III that involves four-laning of 10,000 km of high-density
corridors. NHDP-III, initiated during the NDA regime in 2003-04, was then known
as Pradhan Mantri Bharat Jodo Yojana.
