The industrial solutions &
services division of Siemens, on 16 March 2006, reported the winning of
three orders valued at Rs.68 crore, including two orders from overseas projects.
- National Cement Co, to build
a greenfield 3,450 tpd cement plant at Al Anad (Yemen). The contract, to be
implemented in association with KHD (Germany), is valued at Rs.54
crore. The scope of work includes designing and engineering of the plant's
electrical system, supply of equipments, supervision of installation,
commissioning of the system and also the training of customer personnel. The
project is scheduled for completion within 14 months.
- Ashaka Cement Plant, Nigeria
to upgrade capacity from 1,200 tpd to 1,500 tpd. The scope of work
comprises Supply & Supervision of Installation & Commissioning of
Electrical & Automation Systems for the Five-Stage Pre-Heater Circuit
and Roller Press Circuit in the Cement Mill area. The project is scheduled
for completion within 8 to 10 months. The order worth around Rs.4 crore was
awarded by Humboldt Wedag India.
- Vasavadatta Cement,
Karnataka of the B K Birla's Kesoram Group for expansion of 1 million tpa
Vasavadatta Cement Unit 3. The contract is valued at Rs.10 crore . (project
