1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

23 projects approved under JNNURM

It is learnt that as many as 23 urban development projects has been approved under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

The Rs.50,000 crore project to be implemented in 63 cities is the most ambitious project in the area of urban development in the country. The amount to be released for the year 2006-07 is Rs.5,500 crore.

In addition to these projects, 16 city development plans (CDPs) has already been appraised by National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and National Institute of Public Finance & Policy (NIPFP) and several others are in the pipeline.

The cities that has been considered or in the process of consideration are Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Raipur, Madurai, Coimbatore, Ajmer-Pushkar, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Greater Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Jaipur.

The three main components of the project are infrastructure, basic services to urban poor and wide ranging urban sector reforms which aims to create productive, efficient, equitable and responsive cities.
