Shree Cement has planned to set up its
fifth cement unit at Pali in Rajasthan. The proposed unit, with capacity 1.5
million tpa will take the company's total capacity to 9.1 million tpa by the end
of 2007-08. A new captive power plant of 18 MW would also form part of the
project.
The company is already in the midst of
setting up an identical unit (the fourth) at the same location. Work on a 36 MW
captive power plant is also underway.
It may be recalled that in April 2006,
the company launched a 2 million tpa cement grinding plant at Khuskhere near
Bhiwadi in Rajasthan.
