ONGC Videsh, in consortium with Gail
(India), has made a significant gas discovery in Myanmar's A3 block, it is
learnt.
OVL has 20 per cent stake in the block
while GAIL has 10 per cent. South Korea's Daewoo International
is the operator of Block with 60 per cent stake and Korea Gas Corp (KOGAS) has
the remaining 10 per cent interest in the block.
The estimates of the blocks are yet to
certified but is estimated that the gas reserves will be the range of 4-6
trillion cubic feet (TCF) as the block A-3 lies adjacent to A-1block where 4-6
TCF of gas reserves were previously found. The Mya-1 discovery in A-3 block
flowed about 57.6 million cubic feet of gas per day during testing.
