Bharat Heavy Electricals bagged an
order from Tata Power Co for the supply of equipment and services for its 250 MW
Thermal Power Station in Trombay, Maharashtra.
The scope of work involves design,
engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the
main plant package for Unit-8 of Trombay TPS.
Speaking to ProjectsToday, officials
from TPC stated that work on the project is likely to
commence by October 2006 with completion scheduled within 28 months. This is BHEL's first order where the boiler will be designed to suit firing of imported
coal.
BHEL had earlier supplied equipment
and provided services for 500 MW Units 5 & 6 and the combined cycle plant at
Unit-7 at the same power plant.
