Abu Dhabi-based National Petroleum
Construction Co (NPCC) has bagged a $388.19 million contract from Oil & Natural
Gas Corporation for development of C-Series field in Mumbai High.
The C-Series project involves survey,
design and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and
commissioning of the four unmanned well platforms, coating and laying of 180 km
of pipeline and carrying out modifications on the existing NQG process platform
at Mumbai High.
The project is part of the C-Series
development scheme approved by ONGC Board on 8 September 2006. To be implemented
in three phases, the project will involve investment of of Rs.3,195 crore. The proposed scheme envisages producing gas over
three million standard cubic metres and 700 to 1600 cubic metres per day of
condensate over a period of 15 years. Work on the project is scheduled for
completion by 20 April 2008.
Discovered in 1990, the C-Series field
lies 60 km west of Daman in the Tapti Daman block of Mumbai
High.
