Reliance Energy has bagged two EPC
contracts totalling to over Rs.4,200 crore through competitive bidding from:
- Haryana Power Generation
Corporation to set up a 2x600
MW coal-based power project at Hisar. The project is proposed to be
financed in a debt equity ratio of 80:20, with 20 per cent of cost to be
contributed by the state government. Work on unit I and II is scheduled for
completion within of 35 and 38 months respectively. [contract value:
Rs.3,763 crore].
This is the first project in the
northern region to be awarded the mega project status under the Centre's mega
project policy and is expected to generate electricity at drastically reduced
costs. It will make available an additional 288 lakh units to the state.
- Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut
Utpadan Nigam for balance of plant package for the 2x250 MW extension
units V and VI of the Parichha
thermal power station, near Jhansi. The order for the main plant
consisting of boiler turbo-generator and civil works was earlier awarded to
Bhel on negotiated basis. [contract value: Rs.395 crore].
