Bokaro Power Supply Company (BPSCL), a
50:50 joint venture between SAIL and DVC is expected to acquire 1,000 acres of
land by March 2007 for its 2X250 MW coal based power plant at Bokaro in
Jharkhand. Currently, the company was undertaking DPR and Environmental Impact
Assessment study for the project.
The project would entail an investment
of Rs.2,200 crore and it is scheduled for completion by October 2010. Company is
also augmenting its Bokaro coal based power plant capacity to 338 MW from
existing 302 MW at Jharkhand.
In January 2006, the Board of
Directors approved the project, funded through debt and equity pattern.
