With the Sasan bidding process mired
in controversy, Power Finance Corporation has now decided to appoint a
consultant with expertise in selecting contracts and commercial transactions for
Ultra Mega Power Projects in the pipeline. It has invited applications from
prospective bidders till 4 April 2007.
However, the move inviting
applications from consultants, initiated by PFC on March 29, could be delayed,
as bidding for projects has already gone through while the process has been
kick-started for two more projects.
The consultant will be mandated to
assist PFC in evaluation of bids for technical consultancy firm, assist in
finalisation of the RFQ (Request for Quotation) and RFP (Request for Proposal)
bid documents. Besides, the consultant will be required to assist in
finalisation of draft Power Purchase Agreement to be attached with the RFP
document in consultation with procurers and in finalisation of the contract
documents to be entered with the selected developers.
