Larsen & Toubro has bagged two orders
valued at Rs.412 crore for the following:
- L&T in JV with Kirloskar Brothers
bagged a lift irrigation contract worth Rs.332 crore from the Irrigation &
Command Area Development Dept (ICAD), Government of Andhra Pradesh on EPC
basis.
The lift irrigation contract from ICAD
involves investigation, design, supply and erection of necessary lift systems
with all electrical and mechanical components, surge protection systems, control
valves, etc., for lifting 7.80 TMC water from Goddamvaripalli village to
Goddumarri Anicut in the Cuddappah district of Andhra Pradesh including
operation and maintenance. L&T share in the contract is Rs.274 crore. (project

The scope of work for Kirloskar
Brothers involves design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and
commissioning of pumps, motors, all electromechanical, instrumentation works and
HVAC system.
The lift irrigation project is to be
completed with a period of 24 months.

- L&T bagged another order worth
Rs.80 crore from Rashtriya Ispat Nigam for executing civil works for Wire Rod
Mill No.2 of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), where the L&T and its
International consortium partners of Paul Wurth Italia and India will be
executing an EPC package valued over Rs.1,400 crore for the expansion of VSP.
The expansion project involves
installation of a new third blast furnace- a state-of-the-art 3800 cum unit with
a capacity of 2.5 million tpa of hot metal. (project
