Sandvik Asia, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Swedish Sandvik Group has bagged contracts worth Rs.143 crore from
National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) and Mormugao Port Trust.
NMDC is setting up a
7
million tpa iron ore plant and conveyor system for transportation of iron
ore at Kirandul, Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh and has awarded the Rs.116
crore contract to Sandvik Asia for design, engineering, manufacture, supply,
construction, erection, testing, and commissioning and performance test of the
system.
The scope of work also includes
technological equipment, civil, structural and electrical works and service
facilities like cranes, hoists, water supply and dust suppression facilities on
a turnkey basis.
Sandvik Asia has also bagged a Rs.27
crore contract from Mormugao Port Trust for design, manufacture and supply of
bulk handling machines to handle iron ore.
